For two years, no one showed the original document on the basis of which the UOC-KP was liquidated

The UOC-KP is starting to restore its structure gradually. The first step will be to request from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy and the State Service for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience the original document based on which the activities of the Kyiv Patriarchate were suspended, Filaret’s lawyer Neonila Tkachenko said on Facebook.

“This is a document on the basis of which the UOC-KP was terminated, a liquidation commission headed by Yaremenko was created and the so-called succession of the OCU took place. This document does not exist in the original, it was not provided in any court.

For two years we tried to find this document in law enforcement agencies. However, the corruption and affiliation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the OCU is such that as soon as investigators or anyone else tried to address this issue, to carry out procedural actions, they came across a corresponding instruction directly in the ministry itself. And we know these people,” Tkachenko said.

“When we continued to communicate in a different format, it caused great surprise that it turns out that the OCU and its Metropolis consider themselves the legal successor of the UOC-KP, because the OCU itself made such a decision. One legal entity has decided on another legal entity that it is the legal successor. Whereas the decision on the law on succession is made by the structure that ceases to operate. These are elementary legal procedures that were violated and to which the ministries turned a blind eye,” added lawyer of Filaret.
