President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will appear before the Supreme Court as a defendant in the claim of the parishioners of the UOC-KP, said the head of the legal department of the Kyiv Patriarchate Neonila Tkachenko during the broadcast on Facebook.

According to her, the possibility of a lawsuit on the subject of “Illegal inaction in the exercise of the right to a personal reception of the Patriarch” is being considered. “The president risks ending his cadence disgraced for ignoring the primate of the church, whose name he mentioned in his election speech,” Tkachenko said.

In addition, Filaret`s lawyer explained the difference between a religious organization and a religious community: an organization must be registered in the state register, and a religious community may well operate without registration and even receive land allocation for its own needs, as is already the case with religious communities of the “Kyiv Patriarchate”.
