A year ago, on April 15, 2020, malefactors burned down the church of St. Paraskeva Serbskaya in the village. Cunning in Bukovina. The Chernivtsi-Bukovina diocese of the UOC recalls this.
The fire destroyed a completely wooden building. In the morning, only the ashes remained, the firefighters failed to save the ancient (built in 1898) shrine of the village.
“This loss was very hard for the whole village, the grief that cannot be expressed in words, the pain that will remain in the heart of each of us forever,” say the parishioners of the church.
Within a year, the religious community, with the help of God, almost completed the construction of a new church in the same place where the previous one was, and thanks all the benefactors who supported it in such a difficult time.
