OCU cleric said he was not ashamed of “gifts” from parishioners grandmothers for UAH 1.5 million

The rector of St. Nicholas Church of the OCU and at the same time the deputy of the Poltava City Council from the “European Solidarity” Alexander Dedyukhin in 2020 declared 30 thousand hryvnia of income. And at the beginning of 2021, he received gifts from the elderly parishioners of his church in the form of real estate for UAH 1,500,000. He said that the grandmothers rewrote their real estate to him and he was “absolutely not ashamed of it.” Writes about this “Strana”.

Dedyukhin, who became notoriuos thanks to his public offensive statements against both the UOC and the President of Ukraine, in March received an apartment, house and land plot, the total cost of which is estimated at UAH 1,500,000.

This is evidenced by the information posted in the register of the National Anti-Corruption Agency. He explained that the apartment and the house with land, two parishioners decided to unsubscribe to the church. “And the money? But there is no money – this is a gift,” he said.

This story caused a scandal. Dedyukhin on Facebook commented on it.

“Some said, they say, you were not ashamed to take money from grandmothers for registration of their own housing? You know, absolutely not ashamed. Moreover, I still continue to take money from their pension to buy food and medicine. And I will take until the last their sigh, do not hesitate,” he wrote.
