Metropolitan of the OCU Anthony Makhota died

At the age of 55, the head of the Khmelnytsky and Kamenets-Podolsk diocese of the OCU, Anthony Makhota, passed away. His death was announced by the speaker of the OCU Yevstratiy Zorya.

When and where the farewell to the deceased will take place is still unknown.

Anthony Makhota was born on November 8, 1966 in the village of Slatino, Zolochevsky district, Kharkov region. Since 1996, he was the “bishop” of Simferopol and Crimean Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate. In 1997 he was appointed “bishop” of Khmelnytsky and Kamenets-Podilsky of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate, head of the Khmelnytsky diocese. In 2004 he was appointed “Archbishop”, and in 2012 – “Metropolitan”. Since 2019 – the head of the Khmelnytsky and Kamenets-Podolsk dioceses of the OCU.
