A two-day forum is being held in Kiev, to which the wives of the priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are invited. Forum participants communicate with well-known church speakers, participate in panel discussions, share their experiences, writes “Phraza”.

The forum began on March 9 with a meeting with Metropolitan Boryspilsky and Brovarskiy Anthony (Pakanich).

Metropolitan Anthony noted the importance of the sacrificial labor of a priest’s wife as an example of a real Christian life: “This is a sacrificial life. She (mother – ed.) Sacrifices herself in order for the priest to sacrifice himself for the sake of church life. If there is this feeling of self-sacrifice for the sake of your spouse, and therefore, for the sake of Christ, then everything is built into the correct church life.”

The bishop noted that the life of a priest is sacrificial, and the sacrifice of his wife is manifested in the creation of “inner spiritual comfort, so that the priest understands that he is on the front line, but the rear is completely protected.”

With the blessing of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Onuphry, the Forum for the wives of clergy was organized by the Synodal Department of the UOC for Youth Affairs in cooperation with the Department for Family Affairs of the UOC.

The event is attended by 120 wives of clergymen.
