Serbian Patriarch Porfiry met with the rector of the ROC in Belgrade

On February 23, 2021, in the building of the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, the first meeting of the newly elected Patriarch of Serbia Porfiry with the rector of the courtyard of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev, took place.

The rector of the courtyard congratulated the newly elected Patriarch, wishing him mercy and God’s help in his ministry at the head of the Church of St. Sava. Father Vitaly also presented His Holiness with the Patriarchal Calendar for 2021.

The Patriarch thanked Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev and all the parishioners of the courtyard for their prayer support. His Holiness expressed his readiness to support the events organized by the courtyard, in particular, the celebrations in honor of the patron saints of matrimony – Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom.

The Serbian Patriarch also conveyed words of gratitude to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and the head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, for his help in restoring the shrines of the Zagreb-Ljubljana Metropolitanate, damaged by the earthquake at the end of December 2020.
