On February 13, 2021, Metropolitan Ambrose of Chernigov and Novgorod-Seversky celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Dormition Eletsky Monastery in Chernigov, after which the funeral service of the abbess of the monastery Scheigumenia Nektariya (Treityak) took place. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

His Eminence was co-served by: Archpriest Igor Pidan, secretary of the Diocesan Administration, Archimandrite Roman (Rasyuk), the clergy of the monastery and the diocese.

Scheigumenia Nektariya was buried at the altar wall of the Holy Dormition Church of the monastery.

On February 12, at the age of 82, after a serious illness, the abbess of the Holy Dormition Eletsky Monastery in Chernigov, Schedule Nektariya (Tretyak), passed away to the Lord.

Scheigumenia Nektariya (in the world Nadezhda Ilinichna Treityak) was born on August 11, 1939 in the village. Dremailovka, Chernihiv region, in a family of pious Orthodox Christians. During the years of persecution against the Church, the parents retained their deep faith and were honest workers. Father in 1941 was drafted to the front, went through the whole war, a veteran. The family had nine children, three of them died in childhood. The family education in Christian faith and piety is evidenced by the fact that almost all children chose the spiritual path and service to God. Mother Nektariya’s own sister, Abbess of the Tolgsky Vvedensky Monastery Varvara, is also a benefactor of the Elets monastery. The other sisters of Mother Nektariya, the schema-nun Tafiva and the novice Nina departed to God, the brother of Archimandrite Theodosius now serves in the parish church of the village. Dremailovka. Abbess Nektariya graduated from a seven-year school, but already at the age of 12 she became a novice under the well-known spiritual father Schema-Archimandrite Nikifor (Akhromeev) in the Chernihiv region.

In 1992, she was among the first to come to the newly opened Eletsky monastery. Abbess Mother Ambrose, she became the closest assistant in the restoration of the destroyed monastery, fulfilling the post of dean of the monastery. And after the repose of Abbess Ambrose, she headed the ancient holy monastery. On January 25, 2007, the Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church approved nun Nektaria as abbess of the Chernigov Yeletsky monastery. Nowadays, about 60 nuns live in the monastery (schema, nuns, novices).
