On August 21, 2023, a court hearing in the case of Metropolitan Feodosiy of Cherkasy and Kanevs took place in the Sosnovskyi District Court of Cherkasy. At the beginning of the session, the vladyka made a speech in which, in particular, he noted that the charges against him are fabricated and he does not recognize them, and almost all “victims and witnesses” in this process are clerics of the OCU. This is reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Metropolitan Feodosiy drew the attention of those present to the fact that the clerics of the OCU came to the court session not in priestly clothing.

“You very much do not want the baptized world to see that it was the “clerics” of the OCU who dragged the Orthodox Metropolitan in a crowd to the Court. And this is exactly what is happening. And this is happening in the XXI century before the eyes of the whole Orthodox world”, – emphasized the hierarch.

After the speech of the manager of Cherkasy diocese of the UOC, the court heard the “victims” in the case. The cleric of the OCU Nazary Zasansky said that a few months ago he was browsing thematic sites related to religion and found several videos where Metropolitan Feodosiy expressed his thoughts about the OCU.

“He called the canonical church of Ukraine a political structure, denied its existence, and also said that the main thing in the OCU is not faith, but a political idea. In the second video, he said that the OCU is a small and marginal structure, that it is not Christ’s church in any way. Many people have seen this video, which sows discord in our country,” he said.
