Inna Sovsun: Anti-church bills are not put to the vote because there may not be enough votes

On April 27, 2023, People’s Deputy Inna Sovsun announced on Channel 5 that anti-church bills were not put to the vote in the Verkhovna Rada because of fears of not getting the required number of votes.

“It’s very sad, but today I don’t see the prospect that the relevant bills will get into the parliament hall,” Sovsun said.

According to the deputy, a part of the Servant of the People faction is against such laws, among which “there is a large group of supporters of the UOC-MP, as well as fragments of the Opposition Platform for Life.” In addition, “there are still supporters of the UOC among the majoritarians from “Dovira” and “For the Future”.

Sovsun also said that “there are no issues” with the parties “Voice” and “Eurosolidarity”. There is no one “who would like to preserve the UOC-MP”.
