Metropolitan Augustine was added to the “Peacemaker” website

Metropolitan Augustine of Bila Tserkva and Boguslav, head of the Synodal Department of the UOC for Cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was added to the Peacemaker website.

It is noted that the metropolitan was included in the list “for the dissemination of Kremlin propaganda and participation in information and propaganda events in Russia,” as well as the fact that he allegedly “is an opponent of the independence of Ukrainian Orthodoxy from the Russian-controlled ROC.”

The administrators of the “Peacemaker” website argued their accusations with a publication in the media from 2020, where the bishop noted that out of more than 250 parishes, 180 clergy and 6 monasteries of the Bila Tserkva diocese of the UOC, “only one parish left the OCU, which had previously come to the church from the schism.”

“Three churches were captured from us,” Metropolitan Augustine said at the time. “But the communities did not go anywhere. And this was a pleasant surprise for me: people stick together, respect the priests, the priests feel fraternal unity.”
