Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov) of the Russian Orthodox Church, in the program “Church and Peace” on the TV channel “Russia 24”, said that Russia and Ukraine need to agree and make peace by the will of God.
“The fact that we are experiencing an unprecedented tragedy, that this is some absolutely fundamental and fateful stage in the life of our people, country, Ukraine, does not raise any doubts,” the bishop said.
“How will it all end? We will pray that, of course, everything will end happily and peacefully,” he added.
“It is necessary to resolve these battles between brothers – Russians and Ukrainians, although now the Ukrainians do not call us brothers, but used to call us … We need peace by the will of God. Only God can manage all this,” Metropolitan Tikhon summed up.
