Speaker of the UOC to supporters of the OCU: Do not incite discord. We are all in the same boat

Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, Deputy Chairman of the Information and Education Department of the UOC, addressed the sympathizers and believers of the OCU: “We are all in the same boat. Please do not share our common Ukrainian home.”

“Dear faithful of the OCU! Our people write to me that on a significant number of your pages on social networks there is a specific incitement of religious hatred, namely a lot of negativity against our Church. Especially in Volyn. In this regard, I ask you all:

Brothers and sisters! Do not do that. Now is the time to unite, not to quarrel. Trouble in our common home. We are all in the same boat. Do not loosen it, because we will all drown.

I very much hope that this trouble will induce us to value peace in general, and interfaith peace in particular, even more. That we all rethink a lot. We are all citizens of Ukraine, let’s unite in defense of the state, and put aside mutual claims. True patriotism today is in unity and in helping the state,” Father Nikolai wrote.
