The fantastic ideas of the Metropolitan of Peristeria presuppose the division of all existing Local Orthodox Churches into Churches of the “first and second grade”. This is stated in the commentary of the DECR Communication Service in an interview with Metropolitan Gregory of Peristeria.

“The first-class Churches are those that are mentioned in the acts of the Ecumenical Councils: the first four Patriarchates (without the Roman one) and the Cypriot Church. The rest of the churches are second rate. The first should command the second, make decisions for them.

All this looks like pathetic and canonically insignificant demagogy aimed at justifying the actions of the Patriarchate of Constantinople to legalize the Ukrainian schism, the fallacy of which is becoming more and more obvious every year,” the commentary says.
