Patriarch Bartholomew will pay an official visit to the United States, which will begin on October 23 and will last until November 3, 2021, orthodoxtimes writes.
This is the third official visit of the head of Phanar to the United States. It kicks off in Washington, DC, with a tentative meeting with US President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, and other officials and clergy.
On October 28, a meeting with the President of the University of Notre Dame and a concert in honor of the guest will take place. In the evening, the patriarch will receive an honorary diploma from the university. October 30 – with the clergy and presbyters of the archdiocese and students of the Theological School of the Holy Cross in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, as well as with the flock and compatriots in the United States.
On November 1, the American Jewish Committee will present the highest honor to the patriarch for interfaith relations and the promotion of Orthodox-Jewish relations.
At the end of the day, the head of the Phanar Archdiocese in the United States will host a dinner to mark the 30th anniversary of the enthronement of Patriarch Bartholomew.
