The Catholic Church must make every effort to overcome the current crisis in world Orthodoxy. The head of the UGCC Svyatoslav Shevchuk said this during a meeting with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican, according to the website of the UGCC.
Svyatoslav Shevchuk noted that the topic of ecumenism is of vital importance for Ukraine. “Today Ukraine is a place of confrontation between the two patriarchies. It is very important that both sides of this confrontation recognize the Catholic Church as their interlocutor. Therefore, we must make every effort to overcome the current crisis in world Orthodoxy,” the site writes.
