Greetings from the Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia on the occasion of the 1033th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus

On July 28, 2021, after the end of the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Archbishop Michael of Prague read out the congratulations of His Beatitude Metropolitan Rostislav of the Czech lands and Slovakia on the occasion of the 1033rd anniversary of the Baptism of Rus. The greeting text was posted by mospat.

“I prayerfully congratulate you on the Day of Remembrance of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir – the remembrance of the Baptism of Rus!

The choice made by the holy prince, through the waters of the Dnieper font, brought the people entrusted to him by God to a new stage of historical development. This allowed the East Slavic tribes to become partakers of the labors of Saints Equal to the Apostles Cyril and Methodius, to acquire writing and to know God the Word by listening to and studying the Holy Gospel.

Prayerfully we offer special gratitude to Christ our God on this day and pray for all our brothers! ”, The Primate addressed to the Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine.
