Provisional administration of the Luhansk diocese was entrusted to Metropolitan Panteleimon (Povoroznyuk) of Rovenky and Sverdlovsk. The decree was issued by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine on June 19, 2021, reports the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

Metropolitan of Luhansk and Alchevsk Mitrofan (Yurchuk) departed to the Lord on June 18, 2021 at the age of 59.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry sent his condolences to Bishop Pavel of Belovodsk, vicar of the Luhansk diocese, clergy, monastics and believers of the Luhansk diocese on the repose of Metropolitan Mitrofan of Luhansk and Alchevsk.
