A cleric of the Romanian Church led the divine service of the UOC in Bukovina

On May 6, 2021, on the patronal feast of the church in honor of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious in the town of Storozhinets, the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese of the UOC, a divine service was held at the parish with the participation of about 20 Ukrainian and Romanian priests. The divine service was led by Archimandrite Kalinik of the Romanian Orthodox Church, co-served by the rector of the temple and the clergy of the canonical Church in Ukraine, reports the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese of the UOC on Facebook.

“The clergy of our diocese, guests from neighboring dioceses of the UOC and from the Romanian Orthodox Church came to share the joy of the holiday with the rector of the church – Mitred Archpriest Vasily Kovalchuk, Dean of the Storozhinets district. About 20 clergymen prayed conciliarly at the all-night service,” the message says.

The Consul General of Romania in Chernivtsi, Irina Loredana Stenculescu, also attended the festive liturgy.
