So-called “Metropolitan Epiphany” of so-called OCU agreed with the journalist that the descent of the Holy Fire in Jerusalem is a “performance” and compared it to the consecration of water. According to him, the blessed fire is as holy as the consecrated water, and it appears naturally too.
The statement is not new. We wrote earlier about the popular version among heretics and modernists of allegedly lighting the Holy Fire “from an icon lamp or a lighter”.
As you know, the Jerusalem Church does not recognize the “OCU” and does not transmit the Holy Fire to the schismatics. Everyone knew they were stealing it through Ukrainian diplomats or through “pilgrims” who hide their identity. Maybe, not? Maybe, they do it simply “sanctify” it with their prayers, lighting it with a lighter?
After all, if they do this with the grace of the apostolic ordinations, considering them only symbols, then what will keep them from such treatment with the Holy Fire? After all, for them it is not mysticism, but a “performance”… After all, no one brings Jordanian water to Kyiv from Jordan in the day of Epiphany…
