In the Vinnitsa region, 80 communities of the UOC are challenging in the courts their forced transfer to the new church structure of the OCU, reports Depo.Vinnitsa.

In total, in the Vinnytsia region, the authorities managed to transfer 209 religious communities to the OCU, another 52 communities “in the process”.

According to the head of the Department of Nationalities and Religions of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Igor Saletsky, recently the communities of the UOC have been actively challenging the “transitions”. In the courts, 80 proceedings were opened to appeal against changes in subordination and registration of such changes.

In total, as of March 1, 2021, there are 2,241 religious organizations of 49 confessions in the Vinnytsia region, of which the UOC – 1,024, the OCU – 408.
