On the night of March 7, 2021, unknown attackers broke into 2 churches in the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna eparchy of the UOC: a church in honor of the holy apostle and evangelist John the Theologian in the village of Blischad and a church in honor of the holy great martyr Demetrius in the village of Polyana. This was reported on the eparchian Facebook page.
In the village of Blishad, the attackers got into the church, breaking the window in the altar. Not finding money in the church, the thieves stole the service wine. The thieves also broke down the door to the barn, but they didn’t find anything there either.
In the village of Polyana, the attackers tried to enter the church through the central entrance doors, but they failed. Then the thieves entered the church through the sexton, but they did not get into the church, something frightened them. Fleeing from the church, the criminals left their belongings.
In mid-December 2020 (also in the Khotyn deanery), criminals tried to rob two churches: in the church in honor of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious in the village of Cheponosy, they stole 50 thousand hryvnias, in the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God in the village of Klishkovtsi, the thieves drove away the sound of an alarm.
