Speaker of the OCU prophesies a “victory” over the Serbian Church by analogy with Cyprus and Alexandria

Commenting on the election of the new Serbian Patriarch the representative of the OCU “archbishop” Yevstratiy Zorya gave examples of “changes” in relations with the Churches of Cyprus and Alexandria.

“For those who argue that the new Serbian Patriarch is a “supporter of Moscow” and “Serbs are allies of Russia”, they are trying to prove that there is no need to greet the newly elected patriarch and wish him well,” I will answer:

– not so long ago, the Alexandrian patriarch Theodore was considered a “Moscow’s main ally”;

– not so long ago in Greece, according to polls among the EU countries, there was the highest percentage of those who approve of Putin – more than 60%;

– until recently they claimed that “Cyprus is an ally of Moscow, there is a lot of Russian money and influence there.”

Now we are all amused by the support of the Churches of Cyprus, Alexandria and Greece. And this did not appear “suddenly”. And it was possible to continue to sprinkle ashes on the head and to see exclusively the enemy in everyone who is not yet our ally,” says Yevstratiy.

“The experience of peacemaking and restoration during the service in the diocese in Croatia and Slovenia, which required pastoral balance and sensitivity in religious and national issues, is also important. All this gives grounds to express positive expectations from his service as the new Serbian Patriarch,” for unknown reason, Zorya sees this as positive for the OCU.
