Phanar criticizes the Georgian Orthodox Church

After a recent meeting of the Holy Synod of the GOC (following its results, the Synodal Commission submitted for consideration the issue of the non-canonical consecration of the deacon of the Georgian Church Irakli (Jinjolava), which was carried out by the Phanariots without the consent of the Primate of the GOC), the Times Orthodox resource, close to the Patriarchate of Constantinople, published fragments of a letter from Archbishop Dmanis and Agarak-Tashirsky Zeno, manager of Georgian parishes in Great Britain and Ireland, writes “Pravblog”.

In it, the hierarch attacked both Patriarch Elijah and other GOC officials with harsh criticism.

In particular, it was noted that “the report of the representatives of the Georgian Patriarchate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the political mandate for the Embassy and Consulate of Georgia in Turkey, according to which the ambassador, consul and other official representatives should not attend the liturgies celebrated by the Ecumenical Patriarch, can be considered as a declaration of a secret war against Ecumenical Patriarch “.

It is also interesting that the Georgian hierarch separately emphasizes that the relations between the two Churches have been destroyed.

Due to the statement of this fact, as well as the “leaking” of the “extremely sensitive” letter by the profane edition, containing direct criticism of the top leadership of the GOC, one can safely assume that in the near future there is no point in expecting recognition of the OCU by the Georgian Patriarchate.
