In the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine, parishioners of the Holy Dormition Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Delovoye village, who are deprived of the opportunity to hold services due to the blockade of the church by supporters of the OCU, offer fellow villagers who have transferred to the OCU money to build a new liturgical building for which the village council allocates a plot of land. However, representatives of the OCU do not agree, and claim that the temple belongs to them, writes “Phraza”.
Video about the conflict in Transcarpathia and the ways out of it was posted on the Youtube channel of blogger Anton Gura.
Mykola Tkach, a parishioner of the UOC community in Delovoye, voiced a proposal for a smaller part of the parish, which decided to move to the OCU, among which, in addition to money and land with a house, there is also a charity event.
“In addition to all this, we will show that we really want peace by the fact that we would like to go to a school where children of all confessions go to make a facade there or help in some other way with the amount of money of 100-200 thousand hryvnias,” the parishioner describes the proposal of the UOC community.
On Christmas Eve 2021, OCU supporters blocked the access of UOC believers to the church and did not allow them to hold services. The temple still remains closed.
