Famous Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko commented on the adoption in the first reading of the bill on the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He wrote about it in Instagram.
According to Lomachenko, persecution for the Church and Christians is a normal condition, as persecution of Christians by those in power has occurred throughout history.
The sportsman noted that today the believers of the UOC experience the same manifestations of hatred towards themselves as many Orthodox in former times: lies and slander, humiliation of human dignity, beatings and even persecution of loved ones.

Но как правило гонения на верующих осуществляло государство в болезненной агонии, но как только государство начинало благоволить к верующим, то всё сразу налаживалось в жизни государства. (История ВЗ. Как только древний Израиль отходил от единобожия, то тут же сваливались 1000 и одна беда. Последствия переворота в 1917 году – в 1941 году нашествие коричневой чумы. Как только соввласть открыла храмы сразу же пошли победные дела.) Тут всё прямо наоборот – гонения на верующих приведёт к агонии государства, если государство вовремя не спохватится и тогда выживет. А так волки и так уже ждут…
