The Ukrainian Orthodox Church has engaged the international law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP to protect its rights. This is reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC with reference to the Synodal Legal Department.

“In recent years, we have witnessed a blatant and systematic violation of the right to freedom of religion of religious organizations and believers of the UOC. On September 25, 2023, at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the UOC, it was decided that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church would use all possible legal means to protect its rights both at the national and international levels”, – the statement reads.

It is also reported that legal assistance to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by AMSTERDAM & PARTNERS LLP will be provided on a charitable basis.

“In pursuance of the decision of the Holy Synod, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has applied for legal assistance to the international law firm AMSTERDAM & PARTNERS LLP, which agreed to provide it on a pro bono basis”, – the text says.
