Nun of Lavra: The brethren will not leave the monastery, but will defend it together with the faithful of the Church

Hierodeacon Pavel, a resident of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, said that the brethren of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra themselves will not leave the monastery, but will continue to defend it together with the faithful of the Church. This is reported by the Telegram channel First Kazatsky.

Father Pavel said that after 8:00 on July 6, he went to the court, which was held on the case of the Ministry of Culture against the Monastery to forcibly evict the monks from the Lavra.

“In the court itself, I saw what is happening towards the faithful of the UOC. This is a parade of hypocrisy. This is what is happening here, only in a cultural form, where no one is throwing themselves at anyone, calling names, spitting, poisoning, as has been happening in Lavra for over three months now. And, of course, their speech is interesting, as they say, “We in no way want to kick the monks out of here, we want the monks to be in Lavra.” And with all this, the very essence of the case is to kick us out of here, because we ourselves will not leave,” he said.

The clergyman also urged the faithful to continue on the Christian’s path to eternal life and be it in all situations.

“You see for yourself that the vicar of Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, has been removed from the administration and is not allowed into the monastery. Also activists, Viktoria Kohanovska, others are put under house arrest so that they cannot help the faithful to gather and defend the Lavra,” Father Pavel added.
