Ukrainian government prepares crackdown on UOC after summit in Switzerland – Amsterdam

The head of the international human rights company Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, who represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has said that the Ukrainian government is preparing a new wave of repression against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church after the so-called “Peace Summit”, which takes place in Switzerland on June 15-16. The human rights activist wrote about it in his account in X.

“I have been informed from several sources that the Ukrainian government is planning an aggressive wave of repression against members of the UOC after the peace conference in Switzerland. In particular, I am very concerned about fellow lawyer Nikita Chekman, who is a potential target. We support Ukraine, we support its defense. But this war can in no way serve as a reason for unpunished violation of the law and human rights by the administration of Zelensky”, – said Amsterdam.

We will remind, earlier we reported that Robert Amsterdam sent an open letter to the current President of the UN Security Council Filipe Jacinto Newsy with a request for urgent consideration of the issue of persecution of the UOC in the UN Security Council.
