Russian Orthodox Church says it is working on exchange of priests against whom cases have been opened in Ukraine

The Russian Orthodox Church together with the Russian state authorities is working on the exchange of priests and church figures against whom criminal cases have been launched in Ukraine. This was reported to the Russian media by the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church Vladimir Legoyda, writes Espreso.

“We together with the specialized bodies of state authorities are carrying out efforts with the purpose of exchange of priests and Orthodox public figures from Ukraine…. Most of the work in the field of prisoner exchange takes place outside the public sphere,” Legoyda told.

It is known that the Russian Orthodox Church recently participated in the release of captured Ukrainian soldiers of Hungarian origin.
