Religious scholar: I like that the ROC is withdrawing from Ukraine, but I don’t like how they do it

Religious scholar and politician Viktor Tregubov, in an interview with Ukrinform, expressed his rejection of the methods of struggle against the UOC in Ukraine. He recommended the use of administrative resources, and not “arranging a scuffle.”

“I like that the ROC is withdrawing from Ukraine, but I don’t like how they do it,” he said.

According to Tregubov, some politicians “settle” on the topic of the Moscow Patriarchate only for the sake of populism and show, and not because of a real attitude to religion.

“Where were you before, dear guys? The MP has been excellently “meeting” with you all these years, and now you put on your uniform and shout: now we will kick them all out! Well, but why kick them out when you can “ask” them “For example, with the help of the executive service. Why arrange a scuffle when you can just come, seal, evict,” he said.

According to the religious scholar, he “would like the communities to move into the OCU. Secondly, for the priests to move. And thirdly, they should not be driven into some kind of conditional catacombs and pretend that they are not there, they don’t care you have to take it to your side.”
