The police stopped the religious procession to the Banchen Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

In the Chernivtsi region, the police drew up administrative protocols against the organizer and co-organizers of the religious procession to the Banchen Monastery, ZAXID.NET reports. The procession of believers of the UOC went to the religious complex on May 23. However, she was stopped by the police and explained that due to martial law, any foot pilgrims were prohibited.

“By the decision of the Defense Council of the Chernivtsi region of August 12, 2022, religious processions are prohibited. With regard to the organizer and co-organizer of the procession, administrative materials were drawn up under Article 185-1 (violation of the procedure for organizing and holding meetings, rallies, street marches and demonstrations) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Violations,” the department of the National Police in Chernivtsi region noted.
