Archbishop Viktor of Khmelnytsky and Starokonstantinovsky, in an interview with the Information and Education Department of the UOC, shared that the churches of the Khmelnytsky diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church seized by supporters of the OCU are empty, or even closed.
“Our churches in the city of Khmelnytsky and in general in the Khmelnytsky region have always been filled with people,” said the bishop. “And when these temples switched to another confession, were seized (let’s say the way it really is), it turned out that people didn’t go there at all.”
“There were always a lot of people in the Intercession Cathedral. And when we see photographs where there are few people at the “worship service”, it surprises me. The question arises: where are all those people who voted for the transition to another confession? There were a lot of them then. Where did they come from? Are they generally residents of Khmelnytsky, or were they people from other cities, and perhaps even from other regions? Why don’t they go to the temple?” the archbishop asks.
Also, Bishop Victor emphasized that after the capture of St. George’s Church in Khmelnytsky, there was no “worship” even on the day of the patronal feast.
