In the Kyiv diocese, clerics who evaded schism were banned from serving

On May 8, 2023, by the Decree of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, three clerics of the Kyiv diocese were banned from serving for schism and violation of the oath of a clergyman. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

Priest Aleksey Stepanov was dismissed from the post of rector of the religious community in honor of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Dibrova, Vasilkovsky district, Kyiv region.

Rector Archimandrite Yaroslav (Alekseenko) and staff priest Priest Volodymyr Shynkaruk were dismissed from their positions in the church in honor of the Holy Prophet Elijah in the village of Kalinovka, Vasilkovsky district, Kiev region.

The decree of the Primate of the UOC notes that clerics are prohibited from serving without the right to partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ on the basis of the 10th, 11th and 39th canons of the Holy Apostles, the 2nd canon of the Council of Antioch, for evading schism, gross violation of the oath of a clergyman.
