Filaret Denisenko, in an interview with the Konkurent newspaper, said that the head of the OCU and the Primate of the UOC are not ready for dialogue.

“Not ready. Why? But because they don’t want to lose their primacy. I offer them something else – all the primates remain primates of their churches, and they all unite into the Ukrainian Patriarchate. dioceses will remain, but only unite into a patriarchy,” Filaret said.

He assured that if there had been a patriarchy in Ukraine, there would have been no war.

“Because they choose a patriarch. And the patriarchy in Ukraine is really an independent church. And this is a great strength for Ukraine. If today Ukrainian churches united into one, there would be no problem with either Crimea or Donbass. It would be one state and one Ukrainian church. And we are striving for this. Will we achieve it or not? We will achieve it. Because the truth always wins. And we are with the truth,” Filaret said.
