Parishioners of the captured St. George’s Church in Khmelnitsky appealed to the UN

On April 19, 2023, members of the community of the St. George Church of the UOC in Khmelnitsky sent an appeal to the ambassadors of the EU countries, the coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine and the ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union in Ukraine due to the raider seizure of the shrine by OCU activists. This was reported in the press service of the diocese.

In an appeal to the Plenipotentiary Ambassadors, the parishioners described the incident of the raider seizure of their temple: “On April 10, 2023, with the support of local authorities, they seized the St. The text says that the community was “transferred” to the OCU illegally, and during the seizure of the shrine, believers were not even allowed to enter the church territory.

In their appeal, the parishioners of St. George’s Church asked to pay attention to religious discrimination and gross violation of their rights, illegal interference in the internal activities of a religious community.
