The Synod of the Church of Antioch appealed to world leaders in connection with discrimination and violation of the rights of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

On April 25, 2023, the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Antioch, chaired by Patriarch John X, held its 16th extraordinary session in Balamand, at which the members of the Synod expressed their “solidarity with the brothers in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported on the official Facebook page of the Patriarchate of Antioch.

The Holy Synod of the Antiochian Orthodox Church has addressed the leaders of this world with a request to pay attention to the discrimination and violation of human rights and religious freedoms experienced by the children of this Church and its leaders, which has come down to their expulsion from the Lavra monastery in Kiev, which they rebuilt after the destruction.

It is also noted that the members of the Synod “offered their prayers for the entire Orthodox world, imploring the Risen Lord to protect His Church from schisms.”
