On April 13, 2023, an illegal seizure of the UOC temple in the Grechany microdistrict of the city of Khmelnitsky took place. The event is described on the website of the Khmelnitsky diocese of the UOC.

A meeting was held under the leadership of two city deputies Vitaly Pidgaychuk and Artem Romasyukov, after which a group of people broke down the doors of the temple and seized it.

The message also states that all those present who committed the crime are not visitors to the temple and were not members of the religious community: “People who did not attend Divine services did not participate in the improvement of the Temple, having come, they said that this was their property.”

“All residents of the city, and especially residents of the Grechany microdistrict, know that the rector of the temple, Archpriest Peter Dyachuk, built and looked after the Temple so reverently, making a lot of efforts. In the temple, they constantly prayed for the warriors-defenders of Ukraine, and daily free meals were provided for those in need,” the message emphasizes.
