“Metropolitan” of the Ternopil and Kremenets OCU Nestor said that the OCU is ready now to begin the process of reissuing documents for the Pochaev Lavra. He said this in an interview with Suspіlne.

“Of course, this does not mean that immediately after this decision, all the premises of the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra monastery will be transferred from the Moscow Patriarchate to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. But this decision means that we declare that we are taking part in this process. And we are not just waiting for something to be offered to us, but we are ready to start the process of paperwork right now,” the “hierarch” said.

The “bishop” also said that he is now the “priest-archimandrite” of the Pochaev Lavra: “according to the current tradition, all monasteries located on the territory of the diocese are directly subordinate to the local bishop. And, accordingly, he is the abbot of all monasteries or the sacred archimandrite of all monasteries.

“In this case, the concept of a holy archimandrite does not mean that I will be directly in the Lavra, even when the Lavra is transferred to us. There will be a governor who will directly manage the monastery, ”said the representative of the OCU.
