In the event of eviction from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the monks of the UOC are left with three options – go to the OCU, create their own monastery, subordinated directly to the Patriarchate of Constantinople, or leave for Russia. Religious scholar Lyudmila Filippovich spoke about this on the air of “1 + 1” as part of the All-Ukrainian telethon.
“The options have already been proposed. There is such an option that they choose their rector and can ask for stavropegy from the Ecumenical Patriarchate if they are so terribly unwilling to join the Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” Filippovich said.
“And for those who do not like either one option or the second, we have an excellent formula – “suitcase-station-Russia”. There are already many priests who have not accepted our model of democratic development, receiving Tomos and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. No one is keeping you in Ukraine,” the religious scholar howled.
