The Synod of the Bulgarian Church has suspended concelebrations with the Exarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa

The Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church decided to “refrain” from worship with Metropolitan Leonid (Gorbachev) of Klin. The decision is temporary, it was taken in response to a letter received from Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria, in which he complained about the “non-canonical actions” of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow. The synod also established a commission to study “problems on the territory of the Patriarchate of Alexandria,” writes the Khrizma Center.

Patriarch Neophyte and Metropolitans of Plovdiv Nikolay, Nevrokopsky Seraphim, Rusensky Naum, Starozagorsky Kiprian, Vrachansky Gregory, Dorostolsky Jacob voted for this decision. Metropolitans of Lovchansky Gabriel, Varna and Veliko Preslavsky John, as well as Vidinsky Daniel were against.
