There is not a single monk in the OCU monastery in the Ternopil region, Greek Catholics serve there

On January 31, 2023, information about the annual reports of the “dioceses” of the OCU for 2022 was published on the Сһuгсһег Telegram channel. The resource paid special attention to the item “Statistics on monasteries”, in particular regarding the Ternopil-Buchatsky “eparchy” of the OCU.

“The St. Peter and Paul Monastery indicated there, which is actually destroyed, is described in the report as just a monastery without clergy and novices. And that’s it, not a single mention, not a single event there. Of course, we do not support the too harsh rhetoric of Natalia Shevchuk, who accuses Archbishop Tikhon of fraud, but … The service of Greek Catholics in this destroyed monastery and the lack of any activity on the part of the Orthodox raises certain questions, ”the message says.

The current situation regarding this monastery of the OCU was commented on by the aforementioned Natalya Shevchuk, the chairman of the NGO “The Foundation for the Memory of His Beatitude Metropolitan Methodius”.

“Thank God, at least someone is praying!” she noted regarding the fact that Greek Catholics serve in the “monastery”. “It is a pity that our earnest prayer books have not been there for a long time. It is nice to hear that there are clergy, believers, who, like me, consider the Chervonogorod castle a truly holy ancient place of special spiritual power,” added the parishioner of the OCU.

“The paradox is that the OCU, in fact, does not need any monasteries, or church lands, or functioning churches, or seminaries, if there are no representatives of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate. I gave up almost five years of my life after the death of Metropolitan Methodius to preserve the monastery of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Saints Peter and Paul, known as the Chervonogorod Castle, in the ownership of the Ternopil diocese. Today it is the Ternopil-Buchach diocese as part of the UOC/OCU, which is led by a well-known swindler throughout Ukraine, released on bail and accused of a serious criminal offense – citizen Petranyuk Taras Ivanovich (Archbishop Tikhon). Anyone who even superficially knows the biography of this clown will not be surprised why the shrine is in such a terrible and neglected state, why services are not performed in the temple, prayers are not heard, and why in the daytime with fire you will not find the monks of the OCU, who so vehemently claim to Pochaev and Kiev Pechersk Lavra! It’s just that Petranyuk will soon sell this object together with the land for the second time, just as he recently sold a hectare of golden church land on Chernivtsi in the center of Ternopil, ”said Natalia Shevchuk.
