The Interdepartmental Commission continues its work in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Now it is studying the state of affairs in the Lower Lavra. This was announced on Saturday, January 7, 2023, by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Alexander Tkachenko to the Espresso TV channel.
“The action of the commission should be completed before the end of February,” he added.
In addition, according to the official, a separate commission of the Ministry of Culture will study the issue of the use of other state-owned objects by religious organizations.
“And I think that our ministerial commission will also consider other objects that are in the use of religious organizations. And the Pochaev Lavra, perhaps,” Tkachenko added.
“As for further decisions: we need the conclusions of the interdepartmental commission, which was created in order to study the nature and procedure for the use of objects owned by the state by religious organizations. And after that, make some consolidated, consistent decisions,” the Minister of Culture and Information Policy emphasized.
