Acting Prime Minister of Montenegro invited Pope Francis to meet with Patriarch Kirill in Podgorica

Acting Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazovic suggested that Pope Francis hold a meeting with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ in Podgorica, to which the pontiff agreed, the Montenegrin newspaper Dan reported, citing its own source, writes the Telegram channel “Before everyone. Almost”.

The publication reports that Abazovich’s initiative was discussed during the Prime Minister’s visit to the Vatican on October 10, 2022. The proposal met with support in the Vatican. “I can tell you right away that I accept the invitation of Montenegro to host a new meeting,” the pontiff said at a meeting with the prime minister of the republic. Dan reports that Abazovich’s initiative has been included in the protocols of the Vatican and will be discussed with the Russian Orthodox Church. The holding of the meeting depends on many factors, one of which is the conflict in Ukraine, the newspaper believes.
