A public activist from Ternopil registered a petition to terminate the lease agreement for the Pochaev Lavra with the UOC

On the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on January 18, a petition was registered to terminate the lease agreement for the Pochaev Lavra with the UOC. This is reported by the publication 0352.ua.

The author of the petition is social activist and volunteer Anna Voitovich.

“The complex of buildings of the Pochaev Holy Assumption Lavra in the Ternopil region is still under the full authority of the Russian Orthodox Church, despite numerous violations of the legislation on the protection of monuments, which is worth only the construction of a giant new building cathedral and a five-story hotel,” the text of the petition says.

The activist believes that “everyone should fight on their own front, and while our soldiers are defending the country on the front line, we must fight here, on the ground, and eradicate everything Russian from our lives.”

It is known that Anna Voitovich has been fighting the church for several years now. So, in 2019, in Pochaev, she, along with like-minded people, tried to convince the residents of the city and parishioners that “we need to move away from the” Russian world “, starting with the simplest, switching to the Gregorian calendar and celebrating Christmas with the whole world on December 25.”
