Archbishop Viktor of Baryshivka met with the Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church

On December 5, 2022, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, the head of the UOC Representation to European International Organizations, Archbishop Victor of Baryshivka met with the Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw and All Poland. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

First of all, Archbishop Victor conveyed fraternal greetings to His Beatitude on behalf of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and expressed special gratitude to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine for the large-scale spiritual support and material assistance that the Polish Orthodox Church provides to the Orthodox citizens of Ukraine who ended up on the territory of the Republic of Poland as a result of the Russian military invasion.

The meeting participants discussed the latest events in church life in Ukraine and in world Orthodoxy, exchanged views on the current state of state-confessional relations in Ukraine and Poland, and also touched upon issues that are within the scope of mutual interest.

During a long conversation, Metropolitan Savva recalled the repeated warm meetings with Metropolitan Onufry, which had taken place in different places at one time. Summing up what has been said, His Beatitude Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw conveyed to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv assurances of constant prayerful and fraternal support and wished to continue to hold firmly in his hands the baton of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church
