Sumy City Council demands from the Constitutional Court and the Rada to ban the UOC

Deputies of the Sumy City Council adopted an appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine regarding the ban on the “Russian Orthodox Church, its divisions and dependent organizations.”

The deputies appealed to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine with a demand to immediately decide on the constitutionality of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Article 12 of the Law of Ukraine “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations” on the names of religious organizations (associations) of a religious organization (association ), the leading center (management) of which is located outside of Ukraine in a state that is recognized by law as having committed military aggression against Ukraine and / or temporarily occupying part of the territory of Ukraine “dated December 20, 2018 No. 2662-VIII “.

The parliament is being asked to adopt a law that would ban the “Russian Orthodox Church, its subdivisions and dependent organizations” in Ukraine.
