In Volyn, church raiders from the UOC-KP were too lazy to register a community in a captured parish

Four years after the seizure of St. Volodymyr’s church of the UOC in the Volyn village of Strilche, the Kyiv Patriarchate still has not “formalized relations” and has not registered a community here. Such conclusions can be drawn by analyzing the register of legal entities, in which, at the request of Strilche, only the community of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr of the UOC is issued. This was reported by the Union of Orthodox Journalists.

Strilche is one of some parishes where the raiders from the UOC-KP persuaded the head of the community of the canonical Church to “transfer” to the Kyiv Patriarchate. Priest Andriy Lototsky announced in 2014 that his community had changed its jurisdiction to the UOC-KP. However, the register still includes only the UOC community in the village of Strilche, which is not in the process of closing, and Andriy Lototsky remains its signatory.

Requests about the presence of the UOC-KP community in the village do not provide any information. The UOC community, registered in the village in January 1992, remains active as of July 19, 2018.

The village of Strilche is located in the Gorokhiv district of the Volyn region, which has suffered greatly from the raider seizures by supporters of the UOC-KP of the temples of the canonical Church. However, in the villages of Pechikhvosty and Uhryniv, the communities of the Kyiv Patriarchate were nevertheless registered, and in Strilche, apparently, they simply did not bother, since there was no resistance to the raiders.
