On November 30, 2022, a divine service was held at the Phanar, in which, in addition to the patriarch and hierarchs of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the Metropolitan of the Church of Cyprus Isaiah Tamasos, as well as the “archbishop” of the OCU Agapit Gumenyuk took part. The service was broadcast by the EPT3 TV channel.

Earlier, we recall, Metropolitan Isaiah was one of the most principled hierarchs of the Cypriot Church, who opposed the recognition of the OCU. He even refused to concelebrate with the primate, since the name of the head of the OCU, Epiphanius Dumenko, was mentioned at the liturgy. Now Metropolitan Isaiah is one of the favorites for the post of primate of the Cypriot Church.
