Metropolitan of Chernivtsi and Bukovina Meletiy noted that he did not have a Russian passport.
“And here the question is not for me, but for the SBU. If I applied for this passport in 2007, how can they get such a document? Are they collaborating with the aggressor? This form is not filled out in my handwriting. The only thing I can recognize is only my signature and my photo,” said the hierarch of the UOC.
“It is interesting that this scribble that they planted on me (an application for a Russian passport, – Ed.), They put it in documents from the clinic of St. Luke. That is, fresh documents that I know very well, I know what is in them. And that there could never have been this statement, which I don’t even know who wrote it,” Metropolitan Meletiy added.
The head of the DECR UOC also said that at about 1 p.m. on November 26, when the searches were still “in full swing”, a lawyer was finally allowed to see him, who showed the bishop a message from the press service of the SBU with the results of the searches.
“It said that they found a lot of anti-Ukrainian literature, my application for a Russian passport, “my” medal for the “liberation of Crimea.” Funny? I also found it funny at first. Then they corrected themselves and said that one of my assistants had a sample of this medal in the computer, but there were biographies of some heroes of Russia. What sane person can believe that in diocesan computers we will collect the heroes of Russia, the military, who commit aggression against our country?” the bishop asks.
The Metropolitan noted that if dirty information continues to appear in the media, believers should remember that this is all the work of a service that should take care of the security of Ukraine.
